Dorel Juvenile Group owns several brands in the baby sector including Safety 1st, who produces and sells products for parents in the infant health, home safety and entertainment categories. The Home Security Product Line Program began with a customer request differentiation in a very stagnant category. I will cover 3 projects in this section:

SAFETY 1STTM

Adhesive Cabinet Lock

No tools installation

The #1 reason that safety locks fail is poor installation. Aligning a lock on a swinging door creates plenty of room for error especially when drilling is required.

PROJECT 01

Super Strong Hold

The Adhesive Lock by Safety 1stTM works on over 90% of cabinet doors and drawers.

3M Adhesive is tested and proven to keep toddlers out!

Self Aligning Design

The lock is shipped ready-to-install. Peel off the adhesive backing to mount the assembly to the frame. Simply remove the adhesive close the door or drawer to perfectly align the latch!

SHOWN IN THE READY-TO-INSTALL ASSEMBLY

The latch is molded with features that temporarily hold the small adhesive piece in place while positioning it on the frame.

The rotating latch feature gives parents the option to disengage the lock for activities such as cooking or cleaning.

Locks and Latches

Toddlers can quickly overcome standard locks and latches installed around the house. It takes a durable lock to keep out your little ones. This can make it difficult for parents and grandparents to easily unlatch them as well.

Decoy Button

Hidden Release

Cabinet Slide Lock

The challenge was creating a toddler-proof lock that is easy for adults. To strike the balance, an innovative decoy button was designed to distract the toddler while the actual release buttons are hidden from plain sight!

Lever Handle Door Lock

The decoy button can be applied in many locations around the home to deter toddlers from entering rooms that might be off-limits. Adhesive saves the integrity of the door while making installation easy for parents.
